Nonprofit Qualification

In order to be considered for nomination and an award at an upcoming meeting, nonprofits must be pre-qualified (in compliance with State of Alaska regulations and current on IRS filings).

Current members are encouraged to submit a favorite nonprofit. Members who are employed by a nonprofit may submit the organization for qualification, but may not nominate or enter the nonprofit into the drawing at a meeting. We encourage members to speak on behalf of nonprofits they volunteer for or that they have a passion for!

Nonprofit Eligibility

Established nonprofit organizations serving the Interior of Alaska are eligible for nomination. No national nonprofits will be considered unless they have a local chapter that provides direct services to local community members (such as the Red Cross). The purpose is for the contribution to stay 100% in the community.

Nonprofits agree to provide individual tax receipts and to refrain from using donor information for future solicitations or for publicity purposes unless specified otherwise by the member. Nonprofits also agree to send a representative to the following meeting to describe the impact that the donation had.

Selected nonprofits are not eligible for resubmission for three years. Nonprofits not selected are eligible for renomination immediately.  Visit the History page for a list of previous awardees.
